kdavid Posted February 15, 2012 at 09:45 AM Report Posted February 15, 2012 at 09:45 AM Despite the seeming lunacy of some doctors, I have been tolerant of this issue whenever it's fallen on me. However, my two-year old has been subjected to this non-sense for the last week. I'm not a doctor, but I don't recall American children having to visit the hospital for an hour a day eight days in a row for an IV drip to clear up strep throat. When I was small, my mom crushed up a pink pill which tasted like bubble gum and mixed it in with a bowl of vanilla ice cream. It's times like these, when the cultural differences adversely affect the life of my child, that I really lose my patience with this country. ("Well, go home then," some will undoubtedly think.) Don't worry, I'm working on it. Sorry, I'm just upset and need to vent. Over and out. Quote

jbradfor Posted February 15, 2012 at 03:30 PM Report Posted February 15, 2012 at 03:30 PM Why not just ask for pill-form antibiotics? It's extra crazy as giving antibiotics for strep throat at all is a point of debate. Strep throat typically clears up on its own in a couple of days. Does your child have a particularly bad case?
