New Members mrml Posted November 9, 2010 at 11:23 AM New Members Report Share Posted November 9, 2010 at 11:23 AM I got a recipe for Chinese medicine and would like to google the herbs so I know what I am putting in my body. My Chinese is pretty good but I still can't read the doctors hand writing. Could someone please just type the Chinese names (with characters) in this thread? No need for translation, just need the characters! Thank you! Recipe in attachment!
Kenny同志 Posted November 10, 2010 at 04:58 PM Report Share Posted November 10, 2010 at 04:58 PM Below are the herbal names I am sure about. Xxx 3g xxx20g 砂仁5g xxx6g 淮山药30g 玄参20g (炒)牛蒡子5g 当归15g xxx10g xxx10g 川芎2g(?, not sure) 麦冬15g 杜仲15g 川断10g 路党参12g 连翘5g 柒剂(seven pieces) The handwriting of most Chinese doctors is so bad that it reads like 天书or God’s edict (my mom calls it 鬼画桃符) which even most Chinese have problems figuring out except their fellows, let alone a non-native speaker who may have very limited exposure to the everyday handwriting of Chinese. In fact, I doubt very much that Chinese doctors can’t write well; it’s very likely that they deliberately try to scribble everything so as to prevent the patient from buying medicine from outside the hospital as many guys working at a drugstore also have great difficulty reading that heavenly “edict”. Hope you will be all right soon. Regards, Kenny
