xuechengfeng Posted October 24, 2004 at 05:36 AM Report Posted October 24, 2004 at 05:36 AM This one was slightly hard since I wasn't familiar with a lot of the words I used. (couldn't find word for internet) The red sentence is trying to say "Although now the method of technology is good alright, unfortunately a lot of people use the computer to talk compartively more than in person." horrible, I know! Jose Posted October 24, 2004 at 01:35 PM Report Posted October 24, 2004 at 01:35 PM The normal form for Internet on the mainland is 互聯網/互联网/hu4lian2wang3. There is also 因特網/因特网/yin1te4wang3, which I think is mainly used in the spoken language. Another form I've seen is 網際網絡/网际网络/wang3ji4wang3luo4, which I think is the standard name in Taiwan, and, possibly, in HK and Macau. I'm sure the native speakers will be able to help you with the grammar of the composition. Quote

Guest Posted October 25, 2004 at 02:47 PM Report Posted October 25, 2004 at 02:47 PM Here in Taiwan, I always here people say 網路 for the net. Actually, if it's SPECIFICALLY the internet as opposed to an intranet (內部網) you could say 國際網路, but people almost always just say 網路. Quote
