Ole Posted November 15, 2010 at 06:26 PM Report Posted November 15, 2010 at 06:26 PM Scientists and APPLE-aficionados from the Language Technology Research Center at Harbin Institute for Technology have developed a new Pinyin-Input-System for the iPhone (Web Intelligence Input Method - WI输入法), which they wish to convince APPLE to incorporate in a future OS. Many users say, that this method is quicker and easier. see: article As everything is still under development you need a jailbroken iPhone to put it into action. Only for hackers: file-download. Anybody has more information or experience to share? Quote
creamyhorror Posted November 15, 2010 at 07:28 PM Report Posted November 15, 2010 at 07:28 PM Sounds like a PC-style adaptive IME, which is great. Basically Sogou/Google Pinyin for the iPhone. My phone is jailbroken but I haven't manually installed Debian (.deb) packages like this one before. I'll let someone else try it. Quote
gato Posted November 16, 2010 at 03:40 AM Report Posted November 16, 2010 at 03:40 AM Baidu IME is probably the best Chinese IME right now on the iPhone. You can download it by adding apt.weiphone.com/cydia as a source on Cydia and search for 百度输入法. Quote
