New Members Hammy Posted November 22, 2010 at 11:54 AM New Members Report Posted November 22, 2010 at 11:54 AM Hi, I would be very grateful if the community could recommend some on-line resources for school students age 14 - 18. They have been studying for a few years so are intermediate level. They need free or low-cost apps, games, podcasts, etc. There is a list of topics they require resources for below: Family; Friends; Society; Education/school; Employment/work; Liesure/hobbies; Sports; Healthy living; holidays; other cultures (e.g. not Chinese or Western). As said, we (the students and myself) would be very gratefully for any hints you might be able to provide. Hammy. Quote
Gleaves Posted November 23, 2010 at 08:54 PM Report Posted November 23, 2010 at 08:54 PM Slow Chinese might be good a good podcast for your group. Searching the forums here for "podcast" will show up lots of threads with other recommendations. Smart.fm has some decent Chinese content and lessons. If they are not already using SRS software, have a look at anki. Great for retention of characters and vocab, but you provide your own content. Skritter is not free, but people seem to like it for help in writing. You might also want to track down some cartoons, tv shows, and comics in Chinese. Youku.com and tudou.com have tons of videos for streaming. Here are some relevant threads: First Episode Project, Comic Reading Project (some comics have some PG-13 content), Cartoons in Chinese. Here's a thread on iphone apps. 1 Quote
