Player01 Posted December 6, 2010 at 04:15 AM Report Posted December 6, 2010 at 04:15 AM Do you guys know any good websites that let you learn how to write Chinese characters? Quote
mikelove Posted December 6, 2010 at 05:09 AM Report Posted December 6, 2010 at 05:09 AM Skritter - really nice team behind it too. Though it works better with a graphic tablet (as do most forms of online character writing practice). Quote

New Members PaulPimenta Posted December 6, 2010 at 12:45 PM New Members Report Posted December 6, 2010 at 12:45 PM I've found that nciku.com is a great place to do learn characters and see how they are formed stroke by stroke. Quote
trevelyan Posted December 7, 2010 at 01:15 AM Report Posted December 7, 2010 at 01:15 AM Popup Chinese has a Chinese writing pad you can use to practice random characters, and a lesson series that teaches the rules for how to write Chinese characters. All free too. Quote
Player01 Posted December 7, 2010 at 04:01 AM Author Report Posted December 7, 2010 at 04:01 AM What about pinyin... I have absolutely no idea how people get the pinyin just by listening to the words. You can say I'm not even a novice in pinyin. Quote
Hofmann Posted December 7, 2010 at 08:07 AM Report Posted December 7, 2010 at 08:07 AM What about pinyin... I've gotten in the habit of searching for stuff I don't understand. Quote
parmarossa Posted December 8, 2010 at 06:30 AM Report Posted December 8, 2010 at 06:30 AM Skritter, as mentioned above, is definitely a great place to learn how to write. If you want to integrate this writing practice with actual lessons, then ChinesePod itself has a Skritter add-on that lets you practice the vocab within that lesson. For an introduction to Chinese characters, then there are videos on Youtube (disorganized, though) or on Ninhao, where there is a 20 lesson course. Once you get the basics, there are also lots of flashcard applications that will help you memorize these characters - like easychinesecharacters hope this helps Quote
Meng Lelan Posted December 8, 2010 at 12:32 PM Report Posted December 8, 2010 at 12:32 PM Skritter is very good but I wish it would have audio that names each stroke that goes into the character as each stroke appears in order. Quote
