Konglong Posted November 2, 2004 at 07:29 AM Report Posted November 2, 2004 at 07:29 AM I have been a PocketPC user for about a year now. I was not impressed with dictionaries available for PDAs. Then I ran across Mdict and started creating my own dictionaries. If any of your PocketPC users are interested, I have created a Hanyu Zidian from the Unihan character database. I am now able to immediately write down characters I come across on my PDA as soon as I see them. Helps so much more in my character study. I have filtered most of the stuff I didn't find helpful in the Unihan database file. Depending on which fonts you have installed, not all characters will show up correctly. Especially if they are not commonly used. Each entry includes the equivalent simplified character if one exists. If any of you are interested, send me a message. Update: Sorry, placed this post in the reading/writing because I use it to improve my reading/writing. Next time I know where to put it. Quote
fourthring Posted November 13, 2004 at 08:50 AM Report Posted November 13, 2004 at 08:50 AM hey that is so cool. Does it do character recognition. IN otherwords, you can write the characters on your pocket pc and it scans and translates it to chinese? Does it work for simplified? Yeah I have used the mdict, it's ok. Quote
