skylee Posted November 3, 2004 at 10:16 AM Report Posted November 3, 2004 at 10:16 AM I GUESS "唱主角" is an expression used in the mainland to describe something is / has become the most important/trendy/popular. If you google it you will find a lot of examples on how it is used. For example, "電熱水器唱主角", "合資和國外品牌唱主角", etc. 洋香皂唱了主角 probably means that imported soap has become trendy. Quote
xuezhongwen Posted November 10, 2004 at 08:43 PM Report Posted November 10, 2004 at 08:43 PM Haha, please take 唱主角 as one phrase, meaning 'taking the leading role', so in your case, it would mean, "Foreign soaps are dominating" or "they are main players on the market" Quote
wisder Posted November 12, 2004 at 04:32 PM Report Posted November 12, 2004 at 04:32 PM This is an expression of impersonate. You can imagine the soap a guy, haha Quote
