across Posted January 2, 2011 at 01:47 AM Report Posted January 2, 2011 at 01:47 AM I've seen examples that conflict on this, so I'd like to know which is more commonplace. So, "de" once or "de" twice? What do you think? Where is your friend's cellphone? Nǐ péngyou de shǒujī zài nǎli? vs. Nǐ de péngyou de shǒujī zài nǎli? Quote
skylee Posted January 2, 2011 at 01:53 AM Report Posted January 2, 2011 at 01:53 AM Both are ok. I would use the first because having two "de" is too clumsy. And it is very common to refer to people around you (family, friends, etc) without "de". And when people speak fast or slur many "de" are dropped. Quote
