Used to express contempt, "牛"means poweful, the sentence "你牛什么牛" means "You're not powerful to me."

It means "you cow what cow?" :)

牛 is slang for "awesome", "brilliant", etc. This sentence implies that somebody is acting all cool, probably in an arrogant and overbearing fashion, and that they should stop it.

In my opinion, It's mean that "Who do you think you are? You are also a average person. "

a slang of Beijing, people often say it against or respond to someone whose tone, manner or behavior shows a kind of haughty sense.

I think it should be similar as 'Don't be so stuck-up, Ok?'

similar expression:

你拽什么拽?!
