xuefang Posted January 4, 2011 at 05:40 AM Report Posted January 4, 2011 at 05:40 AM Attention, all laowai ladies: we'd like to introduce a brand-new forum for foreign women in China! The idea is for this forum to become a platform for discussion on all aspects of life in China (working, studying, living, relationships) and also to serve as a platform for women in China to get to know each other in real life. All foreign women with an interest in China, whether living here currently or not, are welcome to join. Just to note: we would like to keep this forum open to foreign women only currently. Our idea is for this forum to be a safe and supportive place where we can discuss issues unique to being a foreign woman living in China. To that end we will also be monitoring posts and if any are disruptive or abusive we will be blocking those users. Currently only registered users can read and make posts. We want this to be a positive, productive, and supportive forum! We look forward to seeing you there! From this link you can access the main page:Foreign Women In China And here you can register: Register to Foreign Women In China P.S. Thank you Roddy for allowing us to introduce our community. 2 Quote
Liebkuchen Posted January 4, 2011 at 09:19 AM Report Posted January 4, 2011 at 09:19 AM Hi, I'm not yet in China but hope to be come September pending a couple of non-CSC scholarship applications- aiming for Chengdu or Harbin (no difference there then...)) although I've got a place already in Jinan but I'm swithering on that one. I'm a Scottish grad who's a bit older than the average college student at 30 but don't have any ties so the reactions from my generally older female friends is one of envy. I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm not a bit scared- but more by the prospect of being away from family for a 10 month stretch than anything cultural. Quote
Lu Posted January 5, 2011 at 01:26 PM Report Posted January 5, 2011 at 01:26 PM It's a bit of a lame request, but is there any chance you can shorten the requirement for length of username for that forum? Right now it wants at least 3 characters... If it's not possible I'll just come up with another username, it looks like it can become an interesting forum. Quote
