I've worn glasses since high school. Only one person ever called me "four-eyes". It didn't upset me mostly because he was so good-natured about it.

It's just a fashion trend. There are a good amount of international students at my university here in San Francisco, and I see them worn a lot. It's weird to me, but at the same time I think it can be kind of cute. I think they also make glasses that have fake lenses. Not sure which more often worn, but I do wonder why those aren't worn more (if they aren't) since if one wants just the look of glasses, might as well complete it by adding the fake lenses to be a little more authentic. All in all it's not a big deal.
