New Members ericnkatz Posted January 5, 2011 at 02:40 PM New Members Report Share Posted January 5, 2011 at 02:40 PM GF bought a package of circular wall mirrors to temporarily cover up some holes an electrician made above a fireplace after removing some old light fixtures. The picture/kanji were found on the inside of the cardboard box the stuff came in. I uploaded a bunch of pictures and a movie of the box here: http://ericnkatz.com/images/chinese-box/ My first impressions are that a chinese worker is in trouble somewhere and needs our help! http://ericnkatz.com/images/chinese-box/photo5.jpg
anonymoose Posted January 5, 2011 at 04:04 PM Report Share Posted January 5, 2011 at 04:04 PM Well, it's a bit of a scrawl, but this is what I think it says: 大家好 我一个大头三毛 你们准有幸能够看到我啦! I'm not sure if that's a character in front of 三 (鬼?) or if it is just a scribble. The meaning is something along the lines of "Hello. I'm a San Mao (a cartoon character). You must be lucky to be able to see me!"
renzhe Posted January 5, 2011 at 04:07 PM Report Share Posted January 5, 2011 at 04:07 PM Not really. It's a bored message by a bored guy doing the packaging. It says "my name is big head, you're lucky to see me" . Meaningless. I think it's 谁, not 准. I can't make sense of the 三毛 part either. (not sure if it's 三生). EDIT: It should be 三毛 , look at the three hairs.
xiaocai Posted January 5, 2011 at 04:20 PM Report Share Posted January 5, 2011 at 04:20 PM The author 三毛 is from Taiwan, but the cartoon character 三毛 is not. The closest I could get is: 大家好,我叫大头鬼三毛,你们谁有幸能够看到我呢! The translation is pretty much similar to those given above. Terrible hand writing BTW.
