The World of Chinese Posted January 18, 2011 at 07:55 AM Report Share Posted January 18, 2011 at 07:55 AM Are you sure of those characters? The first one doesn't appear to exist...I turned on the full 60,000+ character dictionary in Wenlin and searched for a character that contained those components, but found nothing. Assuming the first character is a sloppily written 賴, then the phrase is 賴恩利. But that does not appear to be a kind of lily (I searched several lists of lily types and I didn't find it) or a flower at all (google image search comes up with seemingly random images, and Baidu comes up with nothing at all). If it's a flower, it's the rarest and least-well known flower in the world. More likely, it's a messed-up transliteration of an English flower name, or maybe part of a longer name? Sorry not to be more helpful...
OneEye Posted January 19, 2011 at 03:38 PM Report Share Posted January 19, 2011 at 03:38 PM Seems like a name of a person rather than a flower. 賴 is a surname (Lài), and the other two seem like they'd make a good given name, though I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination. I don't really see what the above poster is talking about. The first character is perfectly clear, though not the prettiest ever.
