New Members Nongfu_SP Posted January 9, 2011 at 06:11 AM New Members Report Posted January 9, 2011 at 06:11 AM Hi there, A company offered to me an "independent contractor agreement" during two months as a trial period before they hire me. And after this period they maybe will offer a normal contract. Anyone knows if this is something common in China? Thanks Quote

It allows the employer to not really be your employer and to sack you without having to jump through any hoops. It also lets them off the hook with regard your taxes and benefits; you have to handle all that on your own. Not as much of a drawback as it sounds like. Quote

Then it makes sense becouse actually it's an American company which I applied for. In Europe (at least in my country) there is usually a normal contract with 2 or 3 months as a trial period, but I see this other way is even less risky for the employer. Thank you! Quote
