davidw89 Posted January 14, 2011 at 12:52 PM Report Posted January 14, 2011 at 12:52 PM Hey guys, let me give you a bit of background to where i am and where i'm heading. Mandarin is my first language but i only studied it until grade 1 (or 2) and since an early age, migrated to Sydney, Australia and haven't really put much effort into studying mandarin. I can speak most of it fine but it's the complicated/hard word that i've never came across that burdens me. I watch chinese films and i can read about 50%+ of the subtitles and understand most of it. But when i go onto chinese website i can't read half the words -_-. So i was hoping you guys could recommend me an elementary (grade 2/3/4) textbook, and i could start on that. Those beginners/learn chinese for foreigners are a bit too easy for me. Thanks again. David Quote
wlee08 Posted August 13, 2011 at 05:23 PM Report Posted August 13, 2011 at 05:23 PM Maybe try out the "Happy Journey Across China" episodes provided by CCTV. They are fairly advanced (no English translations) but they gradually teach new vocabulary. You can find them here: http://english.cntv.cn/learnchinese/ Quote
