Chinese language programs in Southern California

Recommended Posts

Hi, does anyone have good resources to chinese classes in southern california (mainly san diego). Most of the classes are beginner and I am looking for intermediate level and higher. The colleges require you to be a registered student and since I am working full time, the schedules aren't always agreeable.

Thanks.

fourthring,

I feel your pain. I'm currently in Orange County Ca and it seems there are only entry level and intermediate classes available for Chinese study. In these classes very little speaking is done. My experience is the classes are composed of lecture about the language and writing characters.

The only good reference I can find outside the university system (even those are not so great) is Pasadena City College.

It seems due to lacking funds or whatever other reason there is a dwindling amount of classes availible to students.

I'm resolved that the only way to really learn is to go to China to learn.
