Bob Dylan Thomas Posted November 15, 2004 at 09:03 AM Report Share Posted November 15, 2004 at 09:03 AM can anyone telll me how to transliterate Rakmaninov into Chinese? i was telling my Chinese friend about the film "Shine", and although she loves classical music, she'd never heard of 拉克马尼诺夫 (which is what i guessed it should be). But how else can it be translated? Or is Rakmaninov simply not very well known in China? I mean, 柴科夫斯基 is a household name, so it seems a bit strange. skylee Posted November 15, 2004 at 10:16 AM Report Share Posted November 15, 2004 at 10:16 AM Take a look at this. Looks like common transliterations of the name include -> 拉赫曼尼諾夫 拉赫瑪尼諾夫 拉赫曼尼洛夫 拉克曼尼諾夫 If you say you are a 柴可/科夫 this evening, it means you are going to drive your friend/friends/girlfriend(s) home (as a 司機).
