pancake Posted February 5, 2011 at 09:26 AM Report Posted February 5, 2011 at 09:26 AM There's MacKEY. It's quite expensive, and the interface is completely horrible, but it does the job. Quote
mikelove Posted February 5, 2011 at 09:55 AM Report Posted February 5, 2011 at 09:55 AM Wenlin 4.0 just came out - much nicer dictionary than MacKEY, though I'm a bit biased... Quote

sheridan Posted February 9, 2011 at 02:26 PM Report Posted February 9, 2011 at 02:26 PM You can also look at something called TranslateIt (http://mac.gettranslateit.com/), which allows you to load your own dictionaries, many of which can be found through the Stardict site (http://yeelou.com/huzheng/stardict-dic/) and other places. It isn't free either ($50), but very good, I think. Well, I should qualify that: the program is excellent, and the dictionaries are only as good as the ones you load onto it. Also, MDBG has a Mac version, which adds a simplified Chinese-English dictionary into the native Apple dictionary app (http://www.mdbg.net/chindict/chindict.php?page=chinese_dictionary_mac_osx.) Finally, Xiao Cidian is another great, free dictionary add-on for the native dictionary app. It uses the CC-CEDICT, and is quite helpful (http://xiaocidian.com/). I believe it only allows for traditional characters, though. These are the ones I use (as a beginner), along with Wenlin, and find them quite helpful. Quote
