jbradfor Posted February 7, 2011 at 04:32 PM Report Posted February 7, 2011 at 04:32 PM Which university? There is a bit of information in this thread. It doesn't address all your questions, however. Regarding living expenses, maybe someone familiar with current Taiwan costs can post, and keep in mind that Taichung is likely cheaper than Taipei. Quote
weirdo Posted February 8, 2011 at 03:19 AM Report Posted February 8, 2011 at 03:19 AM If you prefer cheap in everything, I'd suggest Tainan. The environment is much more "homey" compared to Taichung. Anyway if you wanna party, you can always take the train and go to Kaoshiung, Taichung or Taipei. But I suggest Tainan. ;) Quote
fryxoo Posted February 8, 2011 at 02:28 PM Author Report Posted February 8, 2011 at 02:28 PM Thanks folks, it is Providence University ;] I think about this one, because In case I wont get scholarship from Gov, this school give free tuition. Of course I prefer cheap, cause I am not rich, and now I am calculating whether I can pay all by myself ;] Quote
fryxoo Posted February 8, 2011 at 02:30 PM Author Report Posted February 8, 2011 at 02:30 PM ohh, and I forget, it's scholarship from MoE, and for whole Masters Degree. One year language, then 2 years Master Quote
Lu Posted February 10, 2011 at 08:22 PM Report Posted February 10, 2011 at 08:22 PM In Taipei a simple meal is about 150 NT$, breakfast is less. I paid 10,000 NT$ for a small but nice and very well located studio. Both food and housing should be quite a bit cheaper in Taizhong. As to scholarships, the MoE has scholarships that are quite good, but perhaps that's the one you're already going for. Quote
weirdo Posted February 11, 2011 at 05:43 AM Report Posted February 11, 2011 at 05:43 AM MOE provides a stipend of NT30,000 per month right? Tainan has National Cheng Kung University. It's a huge university and its reasonably priced. A simple meal would cost at least NT40 (a cup of rice, a serving of any meat, 3sidedishes/veggies of your choice). Once in a while you can treat yourself with an order of steak and unlimited food for something like NT250. Rent is around NT4,000 - 6,000. You can but a bicycle for your transportation but most dorms/apartments are just a walking distance. How I love Tainan B) Quote
fryxoo Posted February 11, 2011 at 09:55 AM Author Report Posted February 11, 2011 at 09:55 AM I wanna get there so much ;] i dont know about another countries, but in Slovakia they give 3 scholarships for Bachelor and 2 for Master studies + one year is LEP. i tried 2 years ago, but i wasnt successful - it's always about 30+ students wanna get there. I hope this year, it's gonna be better. I also found Huayu scholarship - this seems to be for one year language- i need to check it out. Quote
jbradfor Posted February 11, 2011 at 03:54 PM Report Posted February 11, 2011 at 03:54 PM (a cup of rice, a serving of ant meat, 3sidedishes/veggies of your choice). Please tell me that is a type-o. Please please please. Quote
