New Members FutureSpy Posted February 15, 2011 at 12:08 AM New Members Report Posted February 15, 2011 at 12:08 AM Hello. Are there any textbooks for learning Chinese according to New HSK levels? I mean, so that one could learn, and the corresponding HSK after completation of each book for the corresponding level. Thanks in advance Quote
边斌同学 Posted March 17, 2011 at 11:35 AM Report Posted March 17, 2011 at 11:35 AM From the preparation I've done for the HSK, my suggestion to you would be not to try and learn Chinese specifically for the HSK. None of the test prep books I've seen are very practical and won't do much to develop your usable language skills. They're more designed to help those who already have the required general knowledge work on a few areas that are specific to the test. The HSK is designed to test your overall knowledge of the language anyway, so I would recommend you follow a good, non-HSK textbook series, and just use the HSK as a way to roughly gauge your progress. For reading and writing I've been using《汉语精读教程》by the Peking University Press, and think it's great. There's no English though, so if you really can't figure out a word from the Chinese explanation, you have to go look it up in a dictionary. Not really sure what sorts of good oral language books there are out there. 1 Quote
