alot of people seems to disagree... why?

Because it doesn't?

I did a quick google search, and from what I can tell it does not mean that.

Carpe Diem is a set phrase with a specific meaning. It very well might not have a direct translation into a Chinese set phrase. However, some people might be saying that 生現 is the closest, or are trying to make 生現 into a common phrase in Chinese. But that doesn't mean it is.
