amandagmu Posted February 26, 2011 at 11:47 AM Report Posted February 26, 2011 at 11:47 AM So this is probably kind of an odd post because I'm not really sure where to begin a search for the answer... I'm doing a historical project related to sports and physical education programs. I don't need more books or professors telling me about the Olympics and China's great achievements... I have contacts and directions to take for that information. What I'm more interested in is the everyday/mass recreational fitness and sports and physical education programs in the schools. I know about the old people and kids in the parks, and I have plenty of experience in the upper middle class recreational fitness areas. I've watched 体操 in the schoolyards and I've even spoken to parents and other adults about physical education. What I'm lacking, however, is contacts within elementary and secondary schools. For the purposes of research, I'd love to shadow (follow), visit, or maybe even volunteer in some capacity, at some local schools. I just need a place or two to begin. Where would I look for these opportunities? Do I need 关系?Could I just walk up and ask some random school teacher or official or will I get in trouble e.g. do I need special permission? I'm on a student visa here and I have proof I am here for research purposes. 1 Quote

amandagmu Posted February 26, 2011 at 12:45 PM Author Report Posted February 26, 2011 at 12:45 PM Good point. I will ask. (Overall my university has been super unhelpful. Seems like they took my money and that's that.) Quote
