What's the deal with foreign women in China?

Why do foreign males outnumber foreign females in

Zhongguo by 10 to 1? Is it because they aren't as adventuresome as

men?

Even when foreign women are spotted in China they will mostly likely be either alone or with other foreigners. Why don't they seem to mix with the locals? Do they dislike Chinese people or do Chinese people dislike them?

Seeing a foreign man with a Chinese woman is much more common.

Does anyone have statistics on foreign women studying Chinese or living in China?

hmmm...that's true i guess, although you should not say "foreign", but maybe non-asian? there sure are plenty of korean, japanese, indonesian, and central asian women studying in china

That's odd. I know many more foreign women in China than men. Is this another of your amazing facts, website?

Firstly, website, do you have any statistics on that?

Secondly, my opinion. There are, to my experience, more women than men studying in China, simply because there are more women than men studying language and the language students constitute the bigger part of the foreign students' population in China.

My guess is that there are more male than female expats, simply because worldwide there are more men than women working in offices and the like. There are more male than female ambassadors, representatives, etc.

The western male-Chinese female as opposed to western female-Chinese male discussion has been talked about elsewhere, there's no need to repeat it here.

Lastly, I'm not going into a discussion about the differences between men and women when it comes to adventurousness, or women disliking Chinese.
