Jive Turkey Posted November 23, 2004 at 12:22 PM Report Posted November 23, 2004 at 12:22 PM I was looking at the graduate programs offered at BLCU and the suggested reading list for the entry exam. 《中國國情》﹐肖立編﹐was recommended. It's from BLCUP and I guess it's one of the books used for year three of the degree program. Has anybody here read this book or any of the other non-core books (i.e., the ones that aren't listed on the backs of all the 三-四級教材 books? Are 《中國國情》and the other elective class books at all interesting to read, or are they really heavy on the propaganda? I'm generally impressed with the BLCU degree program books, but I've only used the core books that are aimed at building general language proficiency. Quote
trevelyan Posted November 27, 2004 at 10:50 AM Report Posted November 27, 2004 at 10:50 AM Not a bad book, although it will tell you a lot about China that you already know. The text tends to read a lot like newspaper content. Functional and to the point. Quote
