bumclouds Posted April 2, 2011 at 01:16 PM Report Share Posted April 2, 2011 at 01:16 PM Hey guys, Is there a Chinese equivelant of "dress code"? There are some fancy looking bars near my house and I just want to check what I should wear before I go in (I can't really read the sign!). - A
skylee Posted April 2, 2011 at 01:25 PM Report Share Posted April 2, 2011 at 01:25 PM I would use 穿着要求. Some websites use 着裝要求. Or you can just ask him 有沒有規定穿甚麼樣的衣服?
bumclouds Posted April 2, 2011 at 07:23 PM Author Report Share Posted April 2, 2011 at 07:23 PM Thanks =) It worked. He told me there's no dress code.. But shortly thereafter informed me of how much "one hour" costs.. I had to tell him no thankyou, my girlfriend would kill me!
blackmeow Posted April 6, 2011 at 07:18 AM Report Share Posted April 6, 2011 at 07:18 AM skylee's '着裝要求' is the perfect translation for 'dress code'. in mainland i believe as long as u keep ur dress clean then u can easily get in most of the bars. no dress code needed. and for skylee: the translation for the words in your picture which u puted in ur blog is: 'this copper gate is the monument of the Hongkong volunteers who was fought the japanese invaders and pertected the motherland. All of the volunteers who was killed in the actions in between 1941--1945(or it could be 2 i am not sure about the last number) will be remembered forever. By Hongkong goverment.' Hope this will do some help, i wirte this here because i don't know how to reply the blogs yet....
