Are these results definite? Because apparently I passed, but my confucius instutute doesn't have any info on that matter, so they told me they didn't know/probably I didn't get it... I'm confused...

This is a good question, I am also thinking about this. I know that the university where i was accepted according to my status will send the admission materials this week, so maybe they don't have the final result either. But, i think the application materials will be sent to your private address, so Confucius Institute has nothing to do with it.

Do you know that the Confucius Institute doesn't have info about your material only?

Why don't you ask the university? My university is very helpful and they answer very fast!

I really hope that the very very final results will be posted in this week!

@ Marietta:

You are lucky that your university have answered you. I also wrote to the university, which I saw under the "not final" results that it had "maybe" accepted me for studying, but I still haven't got any answer from them. Perhaps I should send them a second e-mail with my "big" question :) :)

@ Konstantin!

Where did you apply? I suggest you to send the same e-mail to all the stuff of the international office, somebody will answer you!

But there is only one e-mail address and it's the address of the international office. There are also phone numbers and I should maybe call at the end of the week if I don't receive any information from them ;)

By the way did you receive a confirmation from the university which gave you a Confucius Institute Scholarship?

Hey, everybody!

OK, so I got a scholarship to go to Peking University for the next school year (yay!).

Here's the thing, I still haven't received the papers from the school and I would like to know when PKU will send them (if they haven't already). I sent them an email last week and got no answer. Today, I tried to call them via Skype and I would always get the same problem. It would say say something like "wrong number". I tried several different numbers.

So, my question to the people here is: has any of you managed to call PKU? If yes, then how? Or, at least, does anyone know when PKU will send the admission papers?

Also, has anyone here who also got a scholarship to go to PKU received an email from them? I haven't. I know I got the scholarship because, well, my name is on the list that PKU published online (and I also got 录取通过 in the Confucius Institute website) and also because a couple of weeks ago I got a call from the Chinese Embassy telling me they spoke with PKU and the people at PKU said I got the scholarship. Now, the reason I don't ask that person from the embassy how to get in touch with PKU is because she's not in the country at the moment. So that's why I'm asking you. I mean, there must be a way to call the university!

Thanks!

@ Konstantin

I see, then I really lucky because all my choices has answered me soon, but I could send my questions about 10 members of the international office. I still haven't got anything from the University, they wrote me that they will send the admission letter this week, but they didnt wrote about my results, I suppose because they also dont know it.

@ Carroceiro

Congrats! Unfortunately I don't have any numbers for PKU.

@Carroceiro

I've got the same problem as you ... also still waiting for the documents from PKU ...

I wrote to the OIR, but haven't received any reply. I asked my local Confucius Institute several times about the admission letter, but they haven't got any information from PKU either, though the lady responsible for the scholarships assured me that I've won the scholarship. The documents should be already on their way and I should wait for some more time, she said.

I also applied for the CSC Scholarship and I've already received all the documents from the embassy (for a different university).

Another friend who applied for the CIS as well, got a call from the CI that they had received the documents from his university ...

It seems to me that the problem lies with PKU.

I hope we'll know more very soon :)

Well, guess what? Mailman came today and left a notice for me to go to the post office tomorrow (I wasn't at home when he came) and collect something sent by "International Students (and I can't understand the rest of his handwriting)."

So, hurrah! These can only be the documents from PKU! :D

So, tomorrow, I will finally find out when I'm supposed to go to China.

I have to say, I find it a bit odd that they sent it directly to my home, as, according to regulations written on the CIS website, they were supposed to send it to the recommending institution (in my case, the Chinese Embassy) and then the Embassy would give them to me. Oh well... As long as I have the documents and all is in good order, it doesn't matter!

Xiaomayi, I'm sure this means that they've sent your documents too and you'll be receiving them very soon, too! :)

By the way, just curious... You have received both a CI scholarship and a CSC Scholarship? How are you going to be in two different universities at the same time?

Congratulations to everyone who got the scholarship!

That's great news, Carroceiro! :)

I'm positive now that the CI will contact me the next few days.

As far as I know we're supposed to arrive at PKU on August 27 the latest, as this is the registration day.

And yes, I received both scholarships. At my university they told us it was no problem to apply for both, though I've also heard that the government isn't really happy about students giving up the offered scholarship, as there is not enough time to transfer the scholarship to someone else. (I feel bad about this somehow  )

Now I have to choose one university and give up the other, but I'm pretty sure it's going to be PKU :)

Where did you hear/read that August 27th is registration day? Because knowing that date was the thing I was very anxious about receiving the papers. To me August 27th is so soon... This is not good at all... Of course, if I have no choice, I'll go in late August. I won't miss this opportunity, of course.

But is this certain?

So, I finally got all my documents! Hurrah!

I was thinking now... Remember that part at the bottom of the scholarship application form where it said something like "I promise to buy overseas insurance before coming to China (and so on...)"?

Well, I don't get it. The Confucius Institute Scholarship already covers insurance! Do they want us to buy another insurance??

Also, in the PKU handbook I got, they never say that the student must have a previously bought insurance. They say the student must buy an insurance on the registration day (apparently, they even have some booth where you can buy it, right there where you register), from a Chinese company by the name of Ping An Insurance. Which I guess is the one covered by the scholarship...

I certainly don't want to buy an overseas insurance which lasts 10 months! It's extremely expensive and I'm not rich. If I were rich, I wouldn't need a scholarship.

Personally, I think that we, scholarship winners, are not required to buy any insurance, though I do find that thing in the scholarship application form to be very odd...

What about the rest of you guys? What do you all make of this?
