夏青 Xia Qing's voice

夏青(Xia Qing), a senior radio announcer of China Central Radio, passed away in July, 2004. As the first generation radio announcer after 1949, he had a strong influence on his younger generation colleagues and hence the public, such that, to some extent, he had become the standard of modern mainland Mandarin. the name 夏青 rings a bell. I'm not familiar with him. My favorite announcer was 赵忠祥 before.

for my generation, 夏青 and 齐越 has probably more influence then 赵忠祥。 still remember 齐越's voice in a novel memorizing '彭德怀' (sorry don't remember the exact name, and can't seem to find it on baidu or google)
