trinifinn Posted April 20, 2011 at 05:10 AM Report Posted April 20, 2011 at 05:10 AM Hi, I live in Hong Kong and took the HSK last in 1999 in Beijing. I am having trouble finding information on test locations here, does anyone know? I actually signed up for something called Putinghua Shuiping Ceshi at HKU, then realized it may not be the same.. skylee Posted April 20, 2011 at 05:57 AM Report Posted April 20, 2011 at 05:57 AM I think you can also take the test at Lingnan University in HK. Take a look -> http://www.ln.edu.hk/cleac/index.html http://www.ln.edu.hk/cleac/proficiency_test/application_form.pdf Quote
imron Posted April 20, 2011 at 06:13 AM Report Posted April 20, 2011 at 06:13 AM then realized it may not be the same.. Yep, Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi is something completely different. It's a test for native speakers to assess how 'standard' their Putonghua is. Getting a good score on this test is a requirement for certain professions in mainland China, e.g. newsreaders, teachers etc. Quote
trinifinn Posted April 22, 2011 at 02:36 AM Author Report Posted April 22, 2011 at 02:36 AM Thanks a lot! I signed up for the HKU one. Now the next task is to find HSK test prep books in Hong Kong.. I tried Cosmos and San-lien in Wanchai already. Thanks! Yes, I did think it was odd that on-line application forms were all in traditional Chinese. Quote
