I have a casual friend who told me yesterday she is down with a cold. I tried to add something like a “get well soon” wish at the end of the text message I sent in reply but it came out all botched up.

So last night I found 祝你早日恢复健康 in one of my textbooks from earlier in the year. I had scribbled a note in the margin that 快好起来 was more colloquial.

What do you usually write in a situation like that?

My friends and I don't say that when it's a very mild illness. Usually some expression of concern or a suggestion to 多保重 or 休息休息 or something like that, then a day or so later ask 身体好点儿了吧?

For you question, the better answer is 静心养病,争取早点好起来。for it is idiomatic chinese, wish that can help you,

Thanks everybody.

My friends and I don't say that when it's a very mild illness.

This girl always sends me messages saying to wear warm clothes if the weather is chilly and so on so I felt obliged to say something that showed concern even though it was not a major ailment.

It's quite likely that she's having a crush on you. lol

She's real cute. That would be just fine.
