New Members pernesto Posted April 22, 2011 at 04:59 PM New Members Report Posted April 22, 2011 at 04:59 PM Hi all, I'm looking for a way to get into Chinese novels. I went through 8 years of mandatory Chinese classes but since I rarely use it at home or with friends, it's become really, really rusty (never was very proficient in the first place to be honest). Now, 5 years after my last Chinese lesson, I've only just realised how beautiful it can be. Probably my favourite author ever is EM Forster, so if you like him.. are there any Chinese novels you've enjoyed too? That have a similar sense of humour, his sympathy even for the people he's making fun of? Would appreciate any suggestions! In the meantime I'm making my way through that huge "What are you reading" thread to shortlist a few good-looking titles. Thanks in advance! Quote
