ramek Posted June 3, 2011 at 03:36 AM Report Posted June 3, 2011 at 03:36 AM @ Sam the school contacted me because they had received my application and wanted clarification I would suppose. Thanks. There was not a real interview for the scholarship, when I went in the ladies were too busy talking about stuff I had in the application and what I needed to have. Then about 15 minutes after constant chatter they Chinese rep said to the other lady "do you have anything else to tell him" she said "no" then salutations and I left. 1
Marietta Posted June 3, 2011 at 09:42 AM Report Posted June 3, 2011 at 09:42 AM Hi! I applied for the Confucius Scholarship too, and my first choice (Sichuan University) warned me that they didn't get my papers. (Now everything is alright, the educational officer of the Chinese Embassy in Hungary has sent it to Beijing and they can forward it to Chengdu). I wrote to my second choice (Chongqing) to ask if they have the same problem, and they answered me, that: "Dear student, We have received the formal notification from China Scholarship Council regarding your scholarship (EU Window) and have comfirmed that Chongqing University will accept you for a one-year language program financed by CSC. We are looking forward to meeting you here in Chongqing next semester. The admission notice and JW201 form (visa application form) will be sent to you by CSC by end of July. Please refer to the admission notice for registration procedure. You are also advised to refer to the university website for more information by end of June. Best regards." I know that this is not the final step, but I am very happy:) ******************** 1) What is your native country? Hungary 2) Where did you apply? China Mission in Eu, Brussels 3) When did you apply? March 4) When was the deadline? March 30th 5) Have you applied for the Scholarship before? No 9) What agency number did you use? EU Mission, 00006 (I think, maybe more or less 0) 10) Where did you get your physical done? I fill it out, and my G.P. put a stamp on it:)I bought a red ink stamp thing and ask him to put the stamp by that 11) How did you get your documents notarized? In my University they put an official stamp on all copies automatically, I have to ask the officer to put for the English translation as well and he was helpful:) 13) Were you accepted for the scholarship, if you were not then why? I think this is not official yet. 16) What school and program were you accepted to? Chongqing University for one year language program. 1

Marietta Posted June 3, 2011 at 12:54 PM Report Posted June 3, 2011 at 12:54 PM Dear Awais, Ramek, Divesh and Haseeb! I am really than You for your good wishes!!! And I hope You will receive the scholarship too! I would like to share my experiences: - Last year I applied to three well know Universities (BLCU, Beida and Beijing Normal University) by almost the same papers and I didn't get the EU scholarship. So maybe applying to a smaller University increase the chances to get the scholarship. - MY chinese teacher suggested me to send an e-mail - asking if I get the scholarship - to all members of the international office of the University, because usually only one person is in charge, and there is not an effective communication between the officers. I recommend you to do the same! I am really looking forward to hearing from you very soon! M Dear Awais, Ramek, Divesh and Haseeb! I am really than You for your good wishes!!! Awais Kazi Posted June 3, 2011 at 02:22 PM Report Posted June 3, 2011 at 02:22 PM @ Marietta Thanks man, for wishing us good luck too.. I hope I get the scholarship too, one question aroused in my mind was .. I just applied for 2 universities and those were .. Shanghai JIAO TONG University Nanchang University (Jiangxi province) .. Shanghai is a very well known reputed university while Nanchang is not much reputed, the most students applying for CSC, are enrolled in Nanchang at a great number.. the question is, I was told by someone in the forums that even if I select no university at all in the application, CSC will still enroll me into some random university, that was because many of the students getting the scholarship were not enrolled in the universities they applied for, instead they were enrolled in some other random universities .. so if thats true, and if I don't get selected in any of the two universities I've applied, do I still have chances to be enrolled in some other random university? 1
samiam876 Posted June 3, 2011 at 02:27 PM Report Posted June 3, 2011 at 02:27 PM @Marietta Congratulations....
Dr.Haseeb Sattar Posted June 3, 2011 at 05:13 PM Report Posted June 3, 2011 at 05:13 PM @Marietta Thanks for your wishes.. Lets hope for the Best. i applied in Xian jiatong univ, shandong and southeast univ....Now i came to know that southeast univ offer Ms Internal Medicine degree in Chines not in English and i am very worried about my selection that if i knew it before then i could select anyother unievrsity.. 2
ramek Posted June 3, 2011 at 06:52 PM Report Posted June 3, 2011 at 06:52 PM Lets be positive and hope for the best. We have already sent our applications to CSC and there is nothing we can do now to change what they already have.......What we need to do is cross our fingers and pray for the best! I have heard stories of people being placed in schools that they didnt apply for that is because CSC will look at your application and find an appropriate school that matches what you want to study. 1
Awais Kazi Posted June 3, 2011 at 08:32 PM Report Posted June 3, 2011 at 08:32 PM @ramek : .. I just hope this comes true .. I'll be happy to be enrolled in any University in china that offers my course in English.. (must be a good one lol) .. @Haseeb : dude, don't worry .. you won't be selected in any course offered in Chinese .. as you would have selected your Chinese level as none, and English level as good/excellent .. they'll surely enroll you in any University offering your desired course in English medium .. I've asked my friend(studying in Nanchang University) to ask the Nanchang University admission authorities about the CSC application status .. I'd be confirming if the applications have been dispatched to the respective universities. The results are surely not to come before the mid of july .. reports tell, that there were people who got the selection notice in mid august as well .. so guys, don't lose hope even if its the late July .. just keep your fingers crossed, anything can happen .. for now, waiting is our only option.. 1
divesh_02 Posted June 4, 2011 at 02:41 AM Report Posted June 4, 2011 at 02:41 AM yeah,we just have to wait now  1
zhilong Posted June 4, 2011 at 02:49 AM Report Posted June 4, 2011 at 02:49 AM if we select or focus only the courses which use English language for teaching, it is not many universities they have English programs in various faculties. I think Beijing and Shanghai have many majors which teach in English, but others are not. Another choice is we can study Chinese language course 1 year before attend class on next year, then I choose this way for CSC scholarship 2011 application. Wish everybody success together >_<
