elliott50 Posted April 27, 2011 at 01:38 PM Report Posted April 27, 2011 at 01:38 PM Hanban have published (2011-04-14) a detailed breakdown of the detailed equivalence between the old and new HSK in terms of grades and marks here (中文). The attached file is the Hanban table showing the equivalent grades/scores. The article also says that new HSK level 4 is the minimum requirement for a foreign student attending a Chinese university. jbradfor Posted April 27, 2011 at 07:54 PM Report Posted April 27, 2011 at 07:54 PM I do not understand this chart. Could someone take pity on the clueless and explain the basics? Quote

fanglu Posted April 27, 2011 at 11:26 PM Report Posted April 27, 2011 at 11:26 PM Is this really accurate though? Consensus on this board previously seems to have been that the highest level on the new HSK would be a lot easier to get than an 11 on the old HSK. Quote
gato Posted April 28, 2011 at 12:02 AM Report Posted April 28, 2011 at 12:02 AM This is a sort of political statement from Hanban, probably. They can't officially say that the new test doesn't test as much as the old test. The BLCU HSK folks just have to grit their teeth and bear with it. Quote
Erbse Posted April 28, 2011 at 07:01 AM Report Posted April 28, 2011 at 07:01 AM They also claim that a NEW HSK 6 is equal CEFR* C2 level, when in reality it's closer to CEFR B2. *Common European Framework of Reference for Languages Quote
