milin Posted May 1, 2011 at 09:56 AM Report Posted May 1, 2011 at 09:56 AM At the end of june I'm going to try HSK 3 and 4, so I will have to write characters. Does anybody how exactly correct the characters have to be? I suppose if you omit a stroke or write a stroke too many the character will be wrong. But what if: - you should write a vertical stroke with a hook at the bottom, and you just write a vertical stroke; - a stroke should be short, and you write it quite a bit longer; - a stroke should be almost horizontal, and the inclination of yours is a bit more vertical; - you use the wrong stroke order (can they see that in some way?). I would be very thankful for any input. Henk Quote
Dani_man Posted May 20, 2011 at 01:46 PM Report Posted May 20, 2011 at 01:46 PM From my experience of Chinese classes, they can reduce points on anything they want. If we could have seen the scoring guidelines of the examniers, it would help, but since it's not the case, just try your best and hope your exam won't fall into the hands of a nitpicker... Quote
anonymoose Posted May 20, 2011 at 04:30 PM Report Posted May 20, 2011 at 04:30 PM If you don't join your strokes together, they shouldn't be able to see if the order is wrong. Generally speaking, if a stroke is too long or too short, it will affect the aesthetics of the character, but will not result in it being wrong, provided that it doesn't cross any other strokes that it shouldn't cross.
