Just curious, how many of you guys have played 麻将 before?

What kind of rules(the main rules contain 香港Cantonese 台湾Taiwan 四川Sichuan 东北Dongbei etc.) did you play?

麻将 is considered to be the most popular and entertaining quintessence of Chinese culture. I think it is an access to learning Chinese culture.

Personally, I find it very fascinating~

Maybe we can hold a 麻将 get-together someday.

I've played. Have no idea what rules we used, which tells you quite a bit about my level.

I love it. I've played with mainland Chinese, overseas Hongkongnese, and Taiwanese, so I usually ask about the rules that are to be used. Also I can play, I can win, but I can't count points. So I think strictly speaking I can't really say I know majiang.

Actually, I don't really know how to count points in Hongkong and Taiwan rules neither, especially Taiwan rule. The most complex rule seem to be Macao. There're 108 sorts of different point-gaining ways. Luckily, I know half more of them.

Although most of the rules are complex and difficult to memorize, the basic rule is simple: you only need to have four 顺子 or 刻子（杠） and a 对子. It's very simple. Lots of people play in this rule.
