Travel Shots/ Cell phone network in Beijing

Anybody have any insight into what travel shots someone studying in Beijing should get? I think that japanese encephalytis and influeza are unecessary while Hepatitis A, B, rabies and Yellow fever seem like useful ones.

Also, is Beijing on GSM or CDMA cell phone network. Are cell phones afordable?
