-葛亚辉- Posted May 20, 2011 at 08:00 AM Report Posted May 20, 2011 at 08:00 AM I currently have a student visa and of course the little residence permit slip from the local PSB station. I want to go home for a couple weeks, do I need to process a new visa to get back into China? There doesn't appear to be anything on the visa itself about how many entries/exits you can have, nor on the residence permit.... Quote
Iriya Posted May 20, 2011 at 10:51 AM Report Posted May 20, 2011 at 10:51 AM Once you have a residence permit you can leave/come as many times as you want. 1 Quote
jiminchina Posted May 23, 2011 at 10:20 AM Report Posted May 23, 2011 at 10:20 AM with a resident permit you can enter/exit as much as you want, but I am not sure if the pink slip from the PSB station is a residence permit. Isnt that just the registration that everyone gets? A residence Permit is a Z Visa, as far as I understand it.... Why dont you ask one of the Visa agents? Quote
yialanliu Posted May 24, 2011 at 04:49 PM Report Posted May 24, 2011 at 04:49 PM You do not have a resident visa. They are not given out at PSBs...Likewise you don't goto the US police station to get a green card. Quote

liuzhou Posted May 31, 2011 at 02:18 AM Report Posted May 31, 2011 at 02:18 AM A residence Permit is a Z Visa, as far as I understand it.... Not really. A Z-visa is an entry visa which allows the bearer to enter China to take up pre-arranged employment. It expires 30 days after entry (no matter what date is on the visa) and must be replaced by a residence permit within that time. Residence permits are also issued to other visa holders, such as students. The residence permit always replaces the prior visa (and is much more useful). You do not have a resident visa. They are not given out at PSBs Yes they are. I have had one for each of the last fifteen years. All given out at the local PSB. Do you have a residence permit? It is stuck in your passport and looks like a visa, but at the top says "Residence permit" instead of "Visa". If you have this you can come and go as you please. The little piece of paper from the PSB isn't a residence permit, it is a receipt to show that you have registered your address; that's all. Here is a residence permit Quote

What visa type did you get? I have got the same one and could leave china and come back. It seems that on the new student visas they don't write anymore if it is multiple entry or not. Quote
