Name Phone account is under.

My girlfriend in China who I have been communicating with both by e-mail and phone and I have met in China is causing me some concern.

After losing her phone number and needing to phone her and not wait for her next e-mail, I rang the International Phone Directory and found there was no lisiting under her name.

After asking her about it she told me it is under her ex husbands name.

After asking for an explanation as to why this was so. She told me she cannot afford to change the name the account is under. After visiting her apartment . I could tell she had a difficult life financially.

What I am asking as I am sure many of you are more conversant with life in China and would be more likely to know whether her explanation is valid.

I suppose I am obviously concerned she is in fact divorced not still married.
