-葛亚辉- Posted May 31, 2011 at 08:38 AM Report Share Posted May 31, 2011 at 08:38 AM Obviously, there are lots of people I could hire to do this in Zhongguancun. But the job I have in mind requires someone who is trustworthy, and not inclined to try to switch out the parts I designate for cheaper ones. The computer won't work if they do. Obviously, I could do it myself, but I've never done it before, and don't want the hassle of trying to track down all the parts and then worrying about whether my shaky hands will accidentally break my investment before it's up and running. I'd rather just hire someone to buy the parts and build it for me. But if I do do that, I really want to find someone who is trustworthy. Does anyone have some experience with this or know anyone? I can speak Chinese so that's not an issue, hoping someone has a connection to someone good.
lordnikon Posted May 31, 2011 at 05:27 PM Report Share Posted May 31, 2011 at 05:27 PM The are shops that do exactly what you want in zhongguancun, you sit down with the sales girl pick out all the parts, she brings them to you for you to look at and verify, then you haggle on the price and then after you pay you take all the parts to the back and they have a bunch of techs putting the computers together right in front of you, you can stand directly next to them if you want, they will even install a bootleg copy of windows if you want
Hofmann Posted May 31, 2011 at 07:12 PM Report Share Posted May 31, 2011 at 07:12 PM If your shaking isn't too severe, I think it's worth it to learn to assemble the parts yourself. It's quite straightforward unless you're doing some unconventional cooling methods (i.e. not air cooling). Everything's designed so that they only fit the right way, so you can't go wrong unless you try to connect things that can't fit together. You'll save money, and from then on, you'll be confident in dealing with most hardware related issues.
