SimonCNL Posted May 31, 2011 at 03:21 PM Report Share Posted May 31, 2011 at 03:21 PM Hi, I don't know if it is at the right section or already mentioned, but I would like to know if there are any good books for improving my chinese without constantly using my dictionaries. I consider my level of chinese as intermediate, around HSK level 4. Or otherwise websites or TV series which are suitable for my level, because when I watch Chinese TV I'm only able to understand around 40% of what they say... renzhe Posted May 31, 2011 at 10:39 PM Report Share Posted May 31, 2011 at 10:39 PM Have you checked the TV series we've covered over in the Chinese Television subforum? There is a difficulty guide in that thread, and you could try with some shows labelled as "Elementary" or "Lower Intermediate", and see how well you do. There are probably no shows where you'll understand absolutely everything, but there should be some that can be enjoyed without constant dictionary thumbing. Are you talking about the old or new HSK?
