Someone said Chinese girls find emtion and intemacey the major factor in relationships, while another dude suggested humour No demographic can be generalized, but you can;t blame a guy for looking for some kind of succesful formula ;) Oh and as for learning a language specifically to date Chinese girls, well that's about the worst idea I have ever heard, I began learning after realising that fluency in another language is such a useful skill, and I happen to find Chinese culture so interesting. The fact that it MAY help in pulling Chinese girls is just an added bonus, lol.
umber Posted December 10, 2004 at 07:56 PM Report Posted December 10, 2004 at 07:56 PM Hi Yonglan In Singapore the first saying " Chinese would rather be crying in a Mercedes than happy and taking the bus " means that they would rather be rich and unhappy rather than being poor and happy, here they are usually referring to the local Chinese, and mind you it is the Chinese who are saying this. and the other one i think is self explanatory, it means that to a Chinese girl no amout of money is enough, there have been many cases here where a woman leaves her man when the money runs out and many men who say this are referring to mainland (China) women. I can't argue here cos out of curiousity we did a test run with this question, it's true but on a personal note i find that Chinese (mainland) women are great, they are mostly nice to me not all but most.

We're not talking about buying a fancy car or buying a new wardrobe, these guys are bettering themselves and advancing their intellectual capabilities at the same time. Plus, the women always have the right to say no. I've never met a girl who dated a guy just because they could speak the same language, otherwise we wouldn't have to work so hard and relationships would be easy. There are beautiful women in every culture and race. I personally don't understand "yellow fever". I wouldn't want to limit myself to one kind of woman, but people like what they like, and who am I to argue with that? Personally, I love most Asians and ABA (American born Asians) as friends, but I've never dated them because I've never really been attracted to the ones that I've met. They're gorgeous and great people, but personalities just didn't mesh. I did almost date a great girl I met in my Chinese class, who happened to be from mainland China, but she ended up dating an ABA from Taiwan, he beat me to her. = ) Frankly, I doubt that it's the Asian factor that has kept me from dating these girls, I think rather that it is the Vegas factor. Most girls here are superficial and materialistic. People are awesome, I love them all. Race is stupid, Culture is important. There are people that want to be closer to the culture(which I can understand), and people who want the falsely represented "docile asian wife"(to each their own I guess), and people who like the physical looks of Asian women(which differ tremendously depending on the many many different cultures and accentuations)... For me, looks may get my attention, but personality is the only way to keep it.

Not sure about abroad but here in China the idea that people learn Chinese to meet partners is blown out of the water by the not insignificant number of men with Chinese girlfriends who can't speak any Chinese, beyond what they pick up from their girlfriend - usually useful phrases like '讨厌' and '你真讨厌' Race is stupid, Culture is important Here here Roddy

If my friend, and this generalisation, is correct, the best chick magnet in SG is a set of BMW keys. No offence to any SG women here, and my apologies if offended, just pointing out that this generalisation is quite prevalent.

It will play a major role in your adventure. Most people know that most Chinese women are more conservative comparing with Western women. Therefore, they tend to go slower and more implicit--- Keep another point in mind though, if you are dealing with a Chinese from the mainland through the Western eyes you will be less likely to score, oops, succeed. Good luck man. Not true. Let me see...of the 3 mainland Chinese women I've been with, I scored on the second date, the second date, and the third date, in that order. And the second one even described herself as a "conservative" Chinese woman beforehand. I'm still with the 3rd one now, she's great. So Comrade, just go for it and do what you'd normally do.
