New Members TwinShadow Posted June 10, 2011 at 02:35 AM New Members Report Share Posted June 10, 2011 at 02:35 AM Someone sent me a text with an image of some symbols, and since I don't know Chinese nor know anyone who does, a google search lead me to here. I took these using a camera to get them off my phone because I can't email the image itself, so excuse the really crude quality. Maybe someone can englighten me on what they mean. I was told it was Chinese, but I could be wrong since I have enough problems trying to recognize Asian text as it is, even Japanese.
skylee Posted June 11, 2011 at 10:33 AM Report Share Posted June 11, 2011 at 10:33 AM They are Chinese characters. But you might wish to note that all the images are upside down. No. 1 could be 干, as it is, or it could be 士 if you flip it upside-down. No. 2 is 志. No. 3 is 奉. No. 4 is 神. No. 5 is 有. No. 6 is 古. No. 7 is 今. For the meaning of these Chinese characters, paste each Chinese character to this website. PS - Upside down, the whole thing is 今古有神奉志士, which seems to be the inscription on a sword in the film Last Samurai. New Members TwinShadow Posted June 11, 2011 at 07:01 PM Author New Members Report Share Posted June 11, 2011 at 07:01 PM Thanks. Also, the image leads to a 404, but I was told it was from a sword, just never bothered to ask about that. Anyway, thanks again, I appreciate the time you took to get the characters in text. I did figure the images were upside down, basing on the structure of the characters, I only forgot to rotate them since I was in a slight hurry at the time.
