Patrick17 Posted June 12, 2011 at 01:26 PM Report Posted June 12, 2011 at 01:26 PM Dear all, I spend quite some time (and money) in the app store trying several apps including GarageBand and iMovie, but somehow I cannot find an app the lets me access my iTunes Liberary (the files I have on my iPad) loop around a single sentence/ word There searched for recording/ mixing software but they somehow don't let me use my current files. Did anybody successfully use one of the many DJ apps to loop around a certain time of a recording for shadowing purpose? Thanks a lot for your advice. Quote
roger2009 Posted June 12, 2011 at 06:07 PM Report Posted June 12, 2011 at 06:07 PM The only way I have found to do it is using the free app Pocket Wavepad. Similar to Audacity, it lets you select sections of an audio file and play them, looping round if you wish. However you can't directly access your iTunes library. You have to use iTunes on a computer to load files onto it. Also it can only handle a few audio formats (.gsm, .aif and .wav), so I have to convert the files I want to .wav (using Audacity on my Mac) then connect my iPhone to my Mac and transfer the files to Pocket Wavepad using iTunes. Also currently there seems to be a problem with the playback volume in Wavepad so when converting to .wav I reduce the volume by 5 to 10db. As it takes me quite a while to work through one file, I find the pain of loading files files this way is just about acceptable. Quote

You may find cheaper apps that do the job though, this is a bit of an overkill. Quote

Patrick17 Posted July 8, 2013 at 11:49 PM Author Report Posted July 8, 2013 at 11:49 PM I finally found an app that allows looping trough songs from your iTunes library: TRAKTOR DJ http://www.native-in...are/traktor-dj/ Normally priced at US$5 (iPhone version) and US$20 (iPad version), these apps seem to be free for a limited time maybe due to the 5 year anniversary of Apple's app store. Looping is extremely fast and easy to achieve as this DJ software goes by beats in your file. Search for TRAKTOR in your iOS app store and try as long a the free offer lasts. Quote
