Looking for a Chinese name

Hi there, I am new to this site after I Googled "choosing a chinese name"

I am starting plans to move to China and get a job in IT, which is my major - but I have read that it is recommended to get a Chinese name. I have had the nickname Dragon ever since I was in school (this is due to me being half-Welsh!) and would like my Chinese name to use the given name 龙 (Lóng), but seem to be having difficulties trying to find a family name that matches well - the ones I have thought of so far are:

Xiāo Lóng - 肖龙

Liáng Lóng - 亮龙

Qián Lóng - 钱龙

Lǐ Lóng - 李龙 (Li is the Chinese version of my Western given name Lee, I was named after Bruce Lee)

I am new to all this stuff so any help would be appreciated! :)

First of all, thank you for welcoming me to the site!

I had some excellent help and also asked my girlfriend Cathy (she's Chinese) for some input and out of the list I gave her (I added a few extra this morning), we both thought 黄龙 (Huang Long) sounded rather nice. Cathy suggested 黄 (Huang), meaning golden yellow.

I'm going to use this as my Facebook name first to test my friends reactions! :)

Are you sure?

As you have a single character given name, maybe you should pick a double character surname. They're more unique and are getting are.

Hmm OK then, given the fact that I am a musician, friendy, loyal and smart, which double character surname yould you suggest goes well with Long - as I'm learning Mandarin, it would help if you posted the Mandarin versions so then I can choose one.

I found a Wikipedia page that only has about 60 double character surnames: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_compound_surname but I'm sure there are more than that. I also have a Japanese and Korean name but those were easy to create, didn't think a Chinese one would be hard! :)

I agree with rezaf. 龍 sounds cliche and cheesy. I think 隆 is better.

Of double-character surnames I like 宇文 and 尉遲. And they don't seem to be too rare/pretentious. But note their Xianbei origin.

It is a little cliche, but if your nickname is Dragon and you're actually named after Bruce Lee, it's hard not to take it. But! 龙 is also a surname, although not a very common one. Perhaps you can use it as a surname and find a nice, non-cheesy given name?

And what is your Korean name? The most obvious choice would perhaps be to just use the characters in that one.
