lockdoc Posted June 16, 2011 at 03:57 AM Report Share Posted June 16, 2011 at 03:57 AM Hi everybody, I am looking for a page where I can listen/watch Chinese News online. A seperate weather report would also be great. Any Idea?

googed Posted June 16, 2011 at 04:52 AM Report Share Posted June 16, 2011 at 04:52 AM I catch all my Chinese news at http://bugu.cntv.cn/ It's a repository of all the CCTV channels The site however asks you to install a software, and an addon if you're using Firefox. You don't need to install the addon if you have the IE tab plugin for Firefox or you're using IE.
lockdoc Posted June 16, 2011 at 05:54 AM Author Report Share Posted June 16, 2011 at 05:54 AM sorry for the other post, sometimes i get confused here with the languages. @langxia: I definetely need some videos in order to improve my listening skills @ googed: Thanks so far, but i am not using windows, so i cannot install this software. Any other pages with HTML5 or flash or something not with not too exotic video formats online? Best wishes
edelweis Posted June 16, 2011 at 06:32 AM Report Share Posted June 16, 2011 at 06:32 AM you can try this page http://cctv.cntv.cn/cctvxinwen/ and explore the links in "节目查看" (scroll down a bit). At least some of them have videos that work just fine in my Linux environment, for instance 24小时 and 新闻周刊. In some cases you can skip the ads. [EDIT] also found some weather reports using the search bar although I'm not sure whether they have a home page somewhere: http://search.cntv.cn/new/xinwen/index.shtml?qtext=%u5929%u6C14%u9884%u62A5
murrayjames Posted June 16, 2011 at 04:12 PM Report Share Posted June 16, 2011 at 04:12 PM You're looking for news in Chinese, right? This site (based out of Shanghai) has 11 streaming radio stations: http://radio.bbtv.cn
bad_dream_house Posted June 16, 2011 at 04:50 PM Report Share Posted June 16, 2011 at 04:50 PM You can get news in Chinese on the BBC World Service webpage. Also some podcasts and stuff, including weekly football news in Chinese. Though I guess there could be some problems accessing that over there
