Tyrion Posted June 19, 2011 at 11:56 AM Report Posted June 19, 2011 at 11:56 AM Do we still get our monthly CSC stipend over summer vacation? Do we still get to stay in our school's housing? (I have a 2 year, full scholarship and I have no plans to go home this summer so....) Quote
Brian US Posted June 19, 2011 at 01:39 PM Report Posted June 19, 2011 at 01:39 PM Yes to the above. You should probably confirm with your school on the housing though. You should for sure get your living stipend. Quote
m000gle Posted June 19, 2011 at 02:40 PM Report Posted June 19, 2011 at 02:40 PM One year scholarship students (or less) receive their final stipend money for either January or June depending on whether they finish following the fall or winter term respectively. Visas, dormitory and health coverage end some time that same month, with the exact dates varying between the end of exams and the end of the month. Two-year scholarship students receive full benefits over the summer between terms of study, so you still receive stipend money, dorm, medical coverage etc. The summer following the second year is likely not covered, nor are any optional summer classes covered. Some specifics may vary from school to school, but here at BNU: we receive the stipend money for both July and August by the start of July; the dorm room should already be reserved (and if not contacting the dorm admin and ISO should fix it pretty quickly); and all other benefits continue as normal... Longer scholarship durations (eg. 3-4 year bachelor) work similar to the two-year ones, just lasting longer. Quote
