SeekerOfPeace Posted June 19, 2011 at 12:45 PM Report Share Posted June 19, 2011 at 12:45 PM Hello guys, I was wondering how to best translate the following: General Information: 一般信息 Gender: 性 Arrival Date: 抵达日期 Last name, first name (I couldn't find anything for first name): 姓氏 (here they should write their last name first and their given name second). Country of Origin: 母国 Mother tongue: 母语 City of birth: 母城 (I'm not sure whether or not we can say this in Chinese) Emergency: 事变 (what is the difference between 事变 and 急变?) I'd like to know how to say: Person to contact in case of emergency. and Do you know someone in the area? EDIT: For circle your answer can I say: 圈圈你的回答 What is the difference between 通常 and 正常? I want to say a ''regular program'', should it be 通常方案 or 正常方案? I'm talking about a university program here. Thank you.
chinchillus Posted June 19, 2011 at 01:59 PM Report Share Posted June 19, 2011 at 01:59 PM General Information: 基本信息 Gender: 性别 Arrival Date: 抵达日期 Last name:姓 (if family name) first name :名 (In fact, a Chinese name has its family name followed by its given name. For example, Tom Smith would be Smith Tom if it's a Chinese name.) (Since China does not support dual citizenship or multi-citizenship, I'm not sure if 出生国 is OK. And 来源国 is often used for goods but not human.) Person to contact in case of emergency. Do you know someone in the area? (It depends on the context.) skylee Posted June 19, 2011 at 10:59 PM Report Share Posted June 19, 2011 at 10:59 PM I'm talking about a university program here. In such a context, consider - programme -> 課程 ; regular -> 常規 ; intensive -> 密集

Bilateral Exchange (I'm talking about a student exchange here).
