muoji Posted June 29, 2011 at 04:50 AM Report Posted June 29, 2011 at 04:50 AM Hey! July's coming up and I'm wondering if there's anything big going on around the 4th. I know that last summer there was a Great Wall Beach Party on the 4th of July, though I'm not sure if it was actually related to America's Independence Day. Is there anything big/fun going on around that time anywhere in China this year? Quote
abcdefg Posted June 29, 2011 at 01:56 PM Report Posted June 29, 2011 at 01:56 PM Cheap drinks and BBQ at one of the expat bars in Kunming. Most of the expats here are not American. Quote
Meng Lelan Posted June 29, 2011 at 04:09 PM Report Posted June 29, 2011 at 04:09 PM You might have to check with the US embassies or consulates if you are looking for July 4th activities. Also check with schools with large numbers of US students, sometimes they have something special going on. 1 Quote
Brian US Posted June 30, 2011 at 01:48 AM Report Posted June 30, 2011 at 01:48 AM If you're in Harbin, won't the Chinese cowboy at USA Bucks be throwing a party? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrVec7p29nU The Americans I know in Beijing are never excited about the 4th, so I'll probably do what I did last year. Try to find some hot dogs and Jack Daniel's. Quote

amandagmu Posted June 30, 2011 at 09:10 AM Report Posted June 30, 2011 at 09:10 AM I'm thinking of doing this on Sunday (a run): http://www.hash.cn/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=287:run-1496-america-qfck-yeahq-run&catid=904:runs And Culture Yard is having a BBQ Monday 7-10PM. Sorry, don't know much about Harbin. I would check with any U.S.-run (if they exist) bars, restaurants, etc. in town! Or maybe you can find a student/youth organization that loves "international culture" or something and see if they have something going on. The one at Taida in Taipei always had parties for these sorts of things. Quote
