Advanced chinese classes in Taiwan

Hi

is anyone taking or has taken advanced chinese classes at Shida MTC care to share their experiences?

How are classes conducted and structured? It is drill and repetition of texts? Do students have the chance to speak alot? Is it 3 days per chapter, etc?

Do teachers' teach/explain vocab usage and 'grammar' functions/rules?

How and what are the assessments like? Is there much of a writing component to write essays, letters, etc?

If anyone has studied Chinese at the advanced level both in Mainland China and Taiwan , care to share their experiences.
