SLA Posted July 13, 2011 at 09:23 PM Report Posted July 13, 2011 at 09:23 PM I received a scholarship for the 4-week summer program at Qingdao Univesrity starting July 16 2011. I had only applied to universities in Beijing which is why I was not perfectly happy when I got the acceptance letter from QU. I now know that Qingdao seems like a really cool city, but I still do not have much info on the university. Has anyone attended the summer program of Qingdao University? How was it? Any tips? Is anyone going to be there for the summer of 2011? Thanx, SLA Quote
Gibbs Posted July 15, 2011 at 05:04 AM Report Posted July 15, 2011 at 05:04 AM I have not attended but I know people who have. They said it is a more relaxed atmosphere compared to the regular semesters. This can be a good thing because you will not feel rushed to cram in a lot of vocab before exams. However it may also be not so good if many of your other classmates are not taking the course seriously. The apathy and lack of student participation in a class can be frustrating. Don't forget the beer festival is in August so plan a day to head to Old Town/Beer Street (I recommend early afternoon) and practice your 口语。 You'll pick up a lot of new, colorful words. Quote

The tip on the beer festival was great! Thanks once again!! SLA Quote
